Mack Builds EPA2010 Trucks On Macungie Production Line

Monday. July 20. 2009

Progress continues on schedule for the production start of customer EPA2010 trucks from Mack Trucks, Inc.  In recent weeks, employees at the Macungie Assembly Operations plant have built MACK® Granite™ and MACK® TerraPro™ models equipped with EPA’10 emissions reduction systems on the production line.  These trucks have the same components that will be installed on customer trucks later this year.

“The fact that we are already building these trucks online clearly demonstrates that we are ready to start producing them for our customers,” said Jim Goodell, Macungie’s vice president and general manager.

Mack will use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) exhaust aftertreatment to meet the near-zero emissions standards of EPA’10.
